"Fiat Motors (Ireland) Limited" was founded in Dublin on 30 November 1923. It imported and sold Fiat vehicles. From 1948 to 1956, W. J. Henderson assembled Fiat vehicles for the Irish market. In 1966 the decision was made to have its own assembly plant. Assembly began in 1968. Vehicle production ended in 1984.
Chrysler also used the reversed front seat idea in the 300X show car. Costing $597.40 ($317.60 in 1968), at a time when a Crown coupe started at US$6,011, it was a very expensive option. Only 81 Crown coupes were ordered this way, and only a handful so equipped are known to survive. The option was canceled at the end of the 1968 model year.

The Jeep-Eagle division was formed from the American Motors Jeep Renault dealer network. The Jeep and Eagle vehicles were marketed primarily by former American Motors dealers. The American Motors badge was last used on the Eagle Sports Wagon through the 1988 model year, then eliminated, and the Eagle car brand was phased out by 1998.
