GSG 9 der Bundespolizei, formerly Grenzschutzgruppe 9 (German for 'Border Protection Group 9'), is the police tactical unit of the German Federal Police (Bundespolizei). The unit is responsible for combatting terrorism and violent crime , including organized crime . [ 1 ]
The CTC was initiated in 1983 by the former GSG 9 commanders Ulrich Wegener and Uwe Dee in order to improve cooperation among the different units and to encourage the exchange of ideas and experience.

GSG 9 (Grenzschutzgruppe 9, literally Border Guard Group 9) is a German TV series about the special unit GSG 9 der Bundespolizei of the German Federal Police. It premiered in the spring of 2007. Its original title, GSG 9 - Ihr Einsatz ist ihr Leben, is a pun on the word Einsatz.
In March 2006, in the same competition, GSG 9 defended its championship. "Team GSG-9, the Federal Border Police of Germany, swept the competition and won all seven events." Under "Miscellaneous" it says . The German GSG 9 team won every event at the 2005 SWAT World Challenge in Las Vegas, beating 17 other teams.
