Unwins Seeds was formed in 1903 by William Unwin by selling sweet pea seeds. [1] His son Charles, who had an interest in sweet peas, joined the business in 1914. [1] A brother Frank had an interest in gladioli. In the late 1950s the company sold packets of seeds to gardening shops in full colour packets.
Unwins was a chain of 381 off-licences selling alcoholic beverages based in Kent, England, with outlets focused on London and the South East. Unwins was founded in 1843, and became insolvent on 19 December 2005.
