The species is endemic to the western coast of the United States and Mexico, ranging from western Washington state to northern Baja California .
Actinemys pallida, the southwestern pond turtle, [1] is an aquatic turtle of the genus Actinemys in the family Emydidae. [2] It can be found in bodies of water in southern California and Baja California. [3]
