Bishop Dwenger High School is a co-educational college preparatory high school in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Fort Wayne–South Bend in Fort Wayne, Indiana, United States. Dwenger is named after Joseph Gregory Dwenger, the second Bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Fort Wayne–South Bend.
In 1872, Pope Pius IX appointed Joseph Dwenger as the second bishop of the Diocese of Fort Wayne. He helped establish Immaculate Conception parish in Celina in Mercer County . [ 7 ] In 1875, he erected an orphan asylum and a trade school for boys at Lafayette .
Originally called the Fort Wayne City Series, the name was changed to the Summit Athletic Conference in 1973, when Harding High School joined. [1] Elmhurst High School closed at the end of the 2009-10 academic year, with students being spread out between North Side, South Side, and Wayne high schools. [2]
She attended Bishop Dwenger, a private Catholic high school, until her junior year, when she moved to California and began attending an online school. However, she left the program during her final year, saying "everybody learns differently and I don't learn by reading and writing a report. I need to be doing something to learn." [6]
