Cambridge American Cemetery and Memorial is a World War II American military war grave cemetery, lying between the villages of Coton and Madingley, 7 km (4.3 mi) north-west of Cambridge, England. The cemetery, dedicated in 1956, contains 3,811 American war dead and covers 30.5 acres (12.3 ha).
The cemetery was opened in 1897, and extended twice, in 1935 and again in 1937. A tree-lined drive leads to a modern chapel and crematorium block with paved landscaping, which gradually gives way to the Victorian original, with its own chapel and a number of angels. The crematorium was built in 1937, and extended in 1962.
The cemetery is also listed as a City Wildlife Site, containing many indicator plant species for undisturbed neutral/calcareous grassland amongst the 110+ species identified. At least 35 species of bird, 23 species of butterflies and several species of mammal have also been reported, including the European dormouse and weasel.
