It oversees eight junior high schools (7-8), eight high schools (9-12), and one non-magnet, secondary selective school, Oxford Academy (7-12).
Officially Lake Highlands High School was established in 1960 at what is now Lake Highlands Jr. High School at the corner of Ferndale and Walnut Hill.
