Hunt Lowry (born in Oklahoma) is an American film and TV producer, who has been involved with film production since the 1980s.He is the president and CEO of Roserock Films, a Warner Brothers in-house studio.

The first two films in the series were released by Warner Bros. Pictures; as the third was a direct to home video, it was released by Warner Bros. Home Entertainment. Each entry in the trilogy was accompanied by a soundtrack release. The soundtrack for the first film sold well and became George Strait's most commercially successful album.

The narrative of the miniseries primarily follows Attila the Hun (reigned 434–453) during his rise to power, violent unification of the Hunnic tribes, and subsequent campaigns, first against the Eastern Roman Empire, and later against the Visigoths and the Western Roman Empire.
This film was shot from April to May of 2001 for nearly 40 days in Wilmington, North Carolina, with many of the sets borrowed from the television series Dawson's Creek. The film, like the book, is dedicated to the memory of Sparks's sister, Danielle, whose cancer-afflicted life inspired the story.
Director Jerry Zucker, who also co-produced with Hunt Lowry, made First Knight as a follow-up to his Academy Award-nominated 1990 hit Ghost. Previously, he was primarily known for teaming with his brother David Zucker and with Jim Abrahams to create comedies such as Airplane! and The Naked Gun. The script was written by William Nicholson.
