The Apex Park and Recreation District is a park and recreation district located in the northeastern portion of Jefferson County, Colorado, United States. Apex encompasses the portion of City of Arvada and adjacent areas that are located within Jefferson County. The district serves a population of more than 100,000.

The location later became the site of Dean Field (1935–1947)/Jaycee Park (1947–2019). Dean Field served as home to the Rogers Hornsby Baseball College. Jackson Field is a baseball venue in Greeley, Colorado, United States. It is home to the Northern Colorado Bears baseball team of the NCAA Division I Summit League. The facility has a capacity of 1,500 spectators. The field was dedicated in 1952 in honor of Charles N. Jackson, a UNC trustee who helped purchase the land in 1927.
The school's athletic teams, known as the Arvada West Wildcats, compete in CHSAA class 5A in the Jefferson County League. Teams are fielded in interscholastic competition in baseball, basketball, cheerleading and poms, cross country, football, golf, gymnastics, soccer, softball, swimming and diving, tennis, and volleyball.
