The cargo ship, carrying 4,000 metric tons (3,900 long tons; 4,400 short tons) of bran, 70 tons of fuel oil and 50 tons of diesel from Yemen to Port Tawfik, Egypt, began sinking after taking on seawater in the engine room in the Red Sea off Al-Qusayr, Egypt after running aground ten days earlier.
