In the battle, Aang and Zuko clash. However, Katara convinces the Earth King that the colonies are neither Fire Nation nor the Earth Kingdom, but rather a multicultural people. Peace is restored, and Zuko realizes that forcing Aang to make the promise was a way of distancing himself from his responsibilities as Fire Lord.
The episode follows Aang and his friends fighting to save the Northern Water Tribe from a Fire Nation siege, led by Admiral Zhao (Jason Isaacs) who seeks the destroy the moon spirit, while Prince Zuko sneaks into the city to capture Aang. The episodes also mark the culmination of the arc concerning the conflict between Zuko and Zhao.
