The Sarasota Ballet is an American ballet company based in Sarasota, Florida. It was founded in 1987 by former ballet dancer Jean Weidner Goldstein and is now acclaimed for its performances of Sir Frederick Ashton 's ballets under its director Iain Webb and assistant director Margaret Barbieri.

Robert de Warren was born in 1933 in Montevideo, Uruguay to British parents, [1] and his early years were spent in Montevideo and Argentina. His early dance training was in Uruguay, where he met his wife, Jacqueline, a French ballerina. de Warren studied at Sadler's Wells School (now the Royal Ballet School) in London, before joining National Ballet of Uruguay in 1954.
He has also co-directed Adam Cooper's ballet company and has produced international performances involving the Royal Danish Ballet, Paris Opera Ballet, New York City Ballet and Stuttgart Ballet. [1] In 2007, Webb became director of the Sarasota Ballet where he has staged over 100 productions including 16 world premieres.

After completing her training at North Carolina School of the Arts, she joined Ballet Austin as an apprentice. After a year with the Nashville Ballet, she joined the Sarasota Ballet in 2007. [1] [2] Brown's repertoire has included Frederick Ashton's Façade, The Two Pigeons, and Les Patineurs and George Balanchine's Allegro Brillante.
