For old geezers like me who struggle to change out recoil springs in the Dawson Tool-Less Guide here's a tip! Had a lightbulb go off while struggling to install a heavier spring for my STI Edge. The old version of the Lee Ram Prime Shell Holder works like a charm! Makes a tough job easy. Photo explains it all!
Safariland USED TO source the shellholders from CCW and they said CCW on them [082], but very recently [this year's Shot show, I think] Safariland changed the design to be more like the Progressive Machine shellholders [085].

It could not have been better. 20 shells Winchester 7 ½ 1200 fps (2 ¾ inch) - The shells fired with no problems, but I had 100% failure to cycle the bolt far enough back to pickup the next shell in the magazine. Replaced the shell plate with an old one and 1 spot was worn completely and shell actually dropped between plate and slide. Question using only brass cases.
Wanted to hand prime some Remington .38 Super brass this evening for load development. Went to RCBS's recommended shell holder size chart for .38 Super ( #16 same as they recommend for 9mm Luger). My 9mm brass fits the #16 like a glove. The .38 Super's rim is too large and won't enter the shell holder.
Braxton1. Two options, but neither involve loading withing pushing the button on the shell carrier": The EasyLoader from Dave's Metal Works is popular and gives you a much larger target to hit when loading the gun. The other option is the shell carrier from the 1100 CompetitionMaster. It is about 4 times longer than the stock button, but not as ...
