Re: Carnauba wax The difference between the two waxes is of personal taste. A pure carnuba wax will impart a nice warm shine (especially on dark colored cars) whereas NXT (combo of synthetics) will leave a nice crisp shine. NXT 2.0 is easy to use and will outlast a pure carnuba wax as far as durability.

Re: Gold Class Carnauba Plus & Ultimate Paste Wax compared side by side. Nice review, both waxes work well as you've shown, really depends on what one is after. GOld class one can say wins in the looks department, or if one is after depth and darkening effect but loses out in durability.

Re: Cleaner Wax vs Carnauba Wax Keep in mind the Cleaner/Wax cleans, polishes, and waxes. The DC3 only waxes. So if your surface is good and clean, and you jus twant to add more wax, you can use DC3. If it needs some cleaning, you will want to go back to the cleaner/wax.

Re: Wax Layering Synthetic and Carnauba Ok so I guess I'll do the UW one day, 2nd coat of UW the next. Then on the 3rd day I'll test a spot with GW and see if it seems worth the effort. So if I had to summarize it all up, adding the Carnauba above a synthetic is mostly for asthetics as opposed to extra protection, correct? Thanks for all the ...

I like to use Meguair's Gold Class Carnauba Plus Premium Liquid Wax and im wondering should i apply that first and than apply hybrid ceramic liquid wax on top of it? Also is there any benefit letting the hybrid ceramic liquid wax dry for more than 3-5min like the directions say? Does HCLW have to be cured for 24hrs before exposing it to rain?

  9. The MYTHS of Carnauba wax - Car Care Forums: Meguiar's Online

Carnauba wax can be measured many ways but it should be measured in wet volume (that is the carnauba wax should be melted into a liquid forum). In general carnauba wax is shipped in very fine flakes, which would be there DRY volume. An example would be to fill a 20 gallon garbage can half way up with feathers, then fill the rest up with water.

Much of that comes from using old school, heavy paste carnauba waxes. Back in the day these waxes could be a real challenge to use because if you did let them dry they could be very difficult to remove. And the thicker you applied them, the harder the removal. And, like we said, most people tend to apply wax too thick in the first place.

A couple of weeks ago I was able to get a tin of Meguiars new Gold Class Carnauba Plus Wax. Since I am a fan of the first version I definitly wanted to give this updated version a try. I tested out the paste version of this wax and hopefully soon I can give the liquid version a try since I prefer liquid over paste waxes.
