Four dialects of Neo-Aramaic are spoken in Syria. [1] Western Neo-Aramaic is spoken in only two villages, Maaloula and Jubb'adin, and until the Syrian Civil War also in Bakhʽa, in the Anti-Lebanon Mountains of western Syria.
