danno_uk 16:48, 7 September 2020 (UTC) It was worth 10 shillings, or 120d (although nobody would have used the latter format). The "50" notation was in preparation for decimalisation two years later. It doesn't really matter what is written on a coin, as long as everyone accepts it's worth a specific value (in this case, 10/-, later 50p).
