Arif-ur-Rehman Alvi (Urdu: عارف الرحمن علوی) is a Pakistani politician who served as the 13th president of Pakistan, in office from 2018 to 2024. [1] He was a member of the National Assembly of Pakistan from June 2013 to May 2018 and again from August to September 2018.

General elections were held in Pakistan on Saturday 11 May 2013 to elect the members of the 14th National Assembly and the four Provincial Assemblies.The three major parties were the Pakistan Muslim League (N) (PML-N) led by Nawaz Sharif, the Pakistan People's Party (PPP) led by President Asif Ali Zardari and the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) led by Imran Khan.
