KUET central library runs in two sections: the General Library and the Reference Library. The General Library provides in-house reading and short-time borrowing of books and other reference material. The Reference Library provides an in-place reading. The General Library system has 50,635 books, journals and periodicals.
Khulna University Central Library was established in 1987. Before, it was housed in Academic Building I, D block. The library room has a floor space of 5,000 sq. ft. (465 sq meters). The library has its building now. The reading room has accommodation for 125 students, 25 teachers and research scholars working simultaneously.

The library has a computerized information system to provide information about library materials for its members. All library services are available to faculty and students. Besides, the general library systems each academic discipline maintains rental library from which students can borrow textbooks at a nominal rate for the whole semester.
BUET central library has a collection of 142,913 items of information materials. Among the materials, 125,066 and 17,847 are books and bound periodicals respectively. [49] Besides, 152 titles are in the current subscription list of journals. [6] Every year, 1500 volumes are added to this library. [49]
Before the independence of Bangladesh, the then Government of Pakistan to meet the increasing demand of professional engineers for the national development established Rajshahi Engineering College in 1964 as a faculty of engineering under the University of Rajshahi.
