The airport is owned and operated by Jefferson County and is situated midway between Denver and Boulder on U.S. Highway 36. It is located 16 miles (26 km) northwest of the central business district of Denver, [1] and is the closest airport to downtown Denver. [2] The airport covers 1,700 acres (688 ha) and has three runways. [1]
Prior to this date the resort had 5 generators that powered the lodge. The resort is sold to Fred and Arlene Dreyfus in 1963 and then to Carol and Dick Malmgren in 1981. In 1982 the Malmgrens rename the resort White Birch Village. The restaurant was closed down and full kitchens are built in all the units to become a full housekeeping resort.
Brookfield Junction was a station on the main line of the Housatonic Railroad and later the Pittsfield Branch of the New York, New Haven, and Hartford Railroad. Opened in 1869, the station was originally located on Stony Hill Road in the southern part of Brookfield, Connecticut. The station was closed in 1925 and was later demolished in the 1930s.
