Manzanillo (Spanish pronunciation: [mansaˈniʝo]) is a city and seat of Manzanillo Municipality, in the Mexican state of Colima. The city, located on the Pacific Ocean , contains Mexico 's busiest port , responsible for handling Pacific cargo for the Mexico City area.
The town is a popular beach destination for U.S., Canadian and local Mexican tourists. Many of the residents are employed in fishing, local palapa restaurants, small hotels, and grocery stores. La Manzanilla is approximately three and a half hours south of Puerto Vallarta and one hour north of Manzanillo by car.

Owned by Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacífico, the airport is named after Playa de Oro, a beach with fine golden sand in the municipality of Manzanillo. In 2022, it handled 165,800 passengers, and in 2023, the number increased to 180,500 passengers.
Much of the state's tourism centers on its beaches in Manzanillo, and in the municipalities of Armería and Tecomán. Manzanillo is the most popular in the state, and a major tourism destination for Mexico's Pacific coast. For this reason, it has developed infrastructure with hotels, restaurants, golf courses, and other attractions. [27]
