Hopkinsville Community College (HCC) is a public community college in Hopkinsville, Kentucky. It is one of 16 two-year, open-admissions colleges of the Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS). Founded in 1965, HCC maintains a main campus in Hopkinsville and an off-site campus on the Fort Campbell Army base.
Hagerstown Community College was founded in September 1946 as Hagerstown Junior College. It was the first community college in Maryland. [1] At first, all of its classes were held in the evening at Hagerstown High School, with the majority of the students veterans of World War II studying on the G.I. Bill.
HCC was one of the last community colleges to be created in Florida, founded in 1968. Only Pasco–Hernando State College, out of the 28-school Florida community college system, was founded later. In January 2008 the school opened its first residence hall, Hawk's Landing, named after the school mascot.
The HCC main campus is located in Columbia, MD and is made up of 14 buildings, including a Welcome Center, [19] located 35 minutes south of Baltimore and 50 minutes north of Washington, D.C. There are satellite campuses in Laurel at the Laurel College Center (LCC) and Training & Development Solutions Center. [20]
It was established as Harford Junior College in September 1957 with 116 students in the buildings and on the campus of the Bel Air High School in the county seat. The Bel Air campus of 1964 occupies 332 acres (1.34 km 2 ) and now has 21 buildings totaling over 287,000 square feet (26,700 m 2 ).
Honolulu Community College is a public community college in Honolulu, Hawaiʻi. It is one of ten branches of the University of Hawaiʻi system and is accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges. HCC's strengths are in its industrial programs including such items as automotive and aircraft maintenance.
Amidst changes in the economy regarding the job market in 2009–10, many New Jersey schools saw an increase in enrollment. Hudson County Community College had one of the largest in the state, [11] at 11%. In 2011, HCCC graduated more than 1,000 students, its largest class since its founding. [citation needed] Library
