  2. MSFT Stock Split? : r/stocks - Reddit

Microsoft has no reason to split. I don't think its crazy at all - not sure they do it at these levels though. $230 isn't at split levels yet. Zero chance for MSFT to split...it may actually go down post acquisition of TikTok....and could be more affordable...imo but who knows.

8/15/2024 1/100 R/S. Just sell some MSFT and use the proceeds to start buying into GOOG/L. Every share purchased of google will equal 20 by in mid July and there will likely be a run up in price in anticipation of the split as a new class of investors will get involved in July. Split has no added monetary value.

AMZN, GOOGL, CMG, BKNG, MELI all have higher chance of splitting than MSFT. Wouldn't a stock split drive MSFT's stock price higher (in the short term), as splits are usually viewed as a good sign? The fact that you don't see companies constantly doing stock splits should be a reason for you to question this assumption.

  5. MSFT is probably one of the last stocks you should be worried about. Perfect credit rating, beautiful balance sheet great revenue and profit. A tad pricey here but your not buying so that doesn’t matter as much. Probably one if the safest stocks out there with its massive moat and diversity. Reply reply.

  6. Microsoft - solid hold or time to sell? : r/stocks - Reddit

Options trading is much nicer when your lots are about 10 grand instead of 50 or 100. More derivatives volume tends to push the price up and also make the stock more volatile. I’ve never tried fractional shares on ToS honestly. And personally fractional shares feel wrong.

That eliminates the old reason for a split. Another reason is for companies to pay their shareholders without causing a tax burden. If they do a split. Follow that with a stock buyback. Causing the value of those split shares to rise. That gives you the choice to sell or not. Saving you the tax burden if you choose not to sell the split shares.

The Price: It’s currently selling for a P/E ratio of 32 which is no menial price tag. Market cap to free cash flow is even worse at 39. I’m often prepared to pay p/e’s like this for a high growth, less mature company, this is not Microsoft. Microsofts growth is good but not great. Growth: over the past 11 years Microsoft has grown by 11%.

  9. MSFT will reach 310 by end of 2021!!! : r/dividends - Reddit

Where did you hear they’re doing a SS? Microsoft hasn’t done a SS since 2003, and stock splits decrease the share price to keep the market value of the company the same despite the increased amount of shares, which is completely counterintuitive to your argument. Also, AAPL doing a stock split means fuck all as far MSFT doing one is concerned.

  11. Anybody else just buying MSFT? : r/stocks - Reddit

Market will remain attractive for some time, and MSFT will remain a particularly attractive part of the market. Well clearly fed won't raise "beyond what it takes to control inflation". Thing is, that could be 5% or 6% by 2023 or 2024....if so, say bye-bye to Microsoft's stock price.
