They do need to be careful and not get too high end/priced. I very much like to buy name brand tools used on ebay, garage sales, wherever they come up. A name brand tool always seems to hold value if I ever need to sell. Overall, I think the Icon brand is as good as any other "weekend warrior" tools you will find. O.

We all know the quality level of many of those tools was below par but often got the job done. Since HF has come out with their new line of tools called ICON, they are touting them as being on the same level as the big truck brands. I went to HF yesterday and made my first purchase of an ICON tool. Its a set of metric ratcheting wrenches with ...

Get the Icon repaired or get parts for it if it ever needs it. It isn't just initial accuracy but how the thing will live over the years and still be accurate (after repeated calibrations). Snap on uses some very good companies for their torque tools. For the price of the Icon you can a real tool. LOL

Looks like all the cheaper sets skip bigger sizes. I have no idea what sizes my Ford has. All the stuff I normally work on is SAE or uses smaller metric sizes. The truck is starting to get older so I want some tools around in case. Icon sizes: 10mm, 11mm, 12mm, 13mm, 14mm, 15mm, 16mm, 17mm, 18mm, 19mm, 21mm, 22mm, 26mm, 27mm

19,563. Location. Suburban Washington DC. Sep 27, 2023. #4. Snap On is for those who only look at what their month payment will be. The $300 combination wrench set isn't too bad at $20 a month, even though a HF or Craftsman set is only $30 and does the same thing.

Virginia, USA. Sep 16, 2024. #7. They are an excellent set of wrenches. I was just using mine yesterday. The ICON non-slip wrench sets go on sale occasionally. Both SAE and Metric were on sale last month for $60-70 per set. So be on the lookout in a few months if you can hold out.

Seems the tablet specs haven't changed dramatically. From what I have researched, the most popular (affordable) ones are Autel, Launch & XTool. The latest versions are all around $1k. The D8 just might be the sweet spot for bang/buck ratio, and it has free 3-year update.
