Laguna Woods Village is an age-restricted community for people aged 55 and over in Laguna Woods, California. It is the largest and most populous of the five similar communities in the city. [ 1 ] The village, formerly known as Rossmoor-Leisure World , was developed by Ross Cortese, a former fruit stand owner turned retirement community developer.

The 2011 Big Up Festival was held on July 28, 29 and 30, 2011. The event featured 50 hours of electronica and jam band music on multiple stages, arts, culture, and multimedia experiences and included a woods village with its own stage, vending, activities and camping accommodations.
The event is now known as the Sonoma Speed Festival. The event also featured Formula 5000 in 2008. [44] Prior to 2010 the event was organized as a doubleheader, after which the event was redone to be more like the Monterey Event. The inaugural year of this new event had Saturday rained out, forcing all the race groups to be contested on Sunday.
