Nuneaton and Bedworth is a local government district with borough status in Warwickshire, England. It includes the towns of Nuneaton (where the council is based) and Bedworth, as well as a modest rural hinterland including the village of Bulkington. The neighbouring districts are Rugby, Coventry, North Warwickshire and Hinckley and Bosworth.
The building was initially known as the "Council House", but was later renamed as the "Town Hall". [1] Local government reorganisation in 1974 merged the Borough of Nuneaton with the urban district of Bedworth, and the Town Hall became the headquarters of the newly constituted Nuneaton and Bedworth Council. Elections to Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council were held on 6 May 2010. Half of the council was up for election and the Conservative Party lost control of the council, leaving it hung and Labour the largest party. This was the first time that the borough council had been hung since before 1974 when the new authority was formed.
