The Central Coast & Newcastle Line (CCN) is an intercity rail service that services the Upper North Shore, Central Coast and Newcastle regions. It connects the two largest cities in New South Wales, running from Central in Sydney along the Main North railway line to Broadmeadow, and to Newcastle Interchange in Newcastle on the Newcastle railway line.
Morisset has two side platforms. It is serviced by NSW TrainLink Central Coast & Newcastle Line services travelling from Sydney Central to Newcastle. [4] Until October 2013 it was the terminating point for many local services from the old Newcastle station, however these now all continue to Gosford and Sydney.
Gosford railway station is located on the Main Northern line in New South Wales, Australia.It serves the Central Coast city of Gosford, opening on 15 August 1887. [3]Between January 1960 and April 1982, Gosford was the northern extremity of the electrified network. [4]
The line was further extended in November 1991, following the opening of a 3.3-kilometre (2.1 mi) section between Bank Foot and Newcastle Airport, [8] [9] with an intermediate station at Callerton Parkway. The line required the construction of just 0.2-kilometre (0.12 mi) of new right-of-way.
It was constructed on 1 February 1889 as part of the final part of the connection between Gosford and Hawkesbury River. The railway line through the station was electrified in January 1960. The station received an easy access upgrade and a lift at some point prior to September 1998.
Broadmeadow has three platforms. It is serviced by NSW TrainLink Central Coast & Newcastle Line services travelling from Sydney Central to Newcastle. [5]It is also serviced by NSW TrainLink Xplorer and XPT long-distance services from Sydney to Armidale, Moree, Grafton, Casino and Brisbane, [6] [7] as well as daily coach services to Taree. [7]
