Using .164. of Playon. It has marked channel login for Netflix as <unknown>. I revalidated netflix channel login. Playon popup stated login was correct and still displays <unknown> for netlfix login. All netflix recordings are failing because Playon will not save the netflix login credentials.
In addition, the recording used constant frame rate, rather than the variable frame rate used for 1080p by PlayOn Cloud. Using variable frame rate results in smaller file sizes but it can cause "jitters" during fast movements of the camera or a person or object.
Start the PlayOn server wait 60 minutes attempt to record from the offending channel again. if these steps as done exactly above do not work for you please respond to let me know ** currently has a login issue with a workaround that uses visible.mmt. (this workaround works with PlayOn Desktop. it might work with PlayOn Home. I do not know.
There are other choices. I spent a great deal of time giving PlayOn info on issues and was given only 3 months of Home. Plus the way this happened and how quickly with poor notice - will spend my money elsewhere unless there's no other choice. The end of the year is the wrong time to kill Desktop. I just googled PlayOn Replacement.
Overall, PlayOn Cloud is a much more reliable service and produces better, more even results. The Home service is inelegantly designed, buggy, and occasionally starts eating resources. There have been multiple instances when running Home where I could not open file directories, or even get a response from the Windows 10 Start button while it ...
It downloads videos directly, saving you allot of time, giving you the best possible quality and it has allot more features and support to it than PlayOn. So if you actually do record allot monthly with PlayOn, and would keep on subscribing from a pure time and value -standpoint, you would be wasting allot of money in the long run.
With Netflix, if you set your audio and subtitles preference in the Netflix preferences in your web browser, and then play a video from about ten minutes to let the change take hold, it should then record in that audio track with subtitles enabled in PlayOn.
Playon was not recording from any of the streaming sites , Hulu, Netflix, Amazon, Networks, Youtube, etc. Went though troubleshooting suggestions with support and it was determined that the satellite ISP could be a major culprit in the problems.
playon browser extension, dead (could record any stream with that one, even if playon didn't support the channel) playon plugins dead, 3rd parties could support channels - you know, sort of like having community support for channels people wanted but playon couldn't support itself the number of channels keeps on going down, down, down....
Perhaps amazon implemented something similar and PlayOn hasn't added a fix yet. I'd submit an official support ticket after clearing your logs and repeating the issue. The new logs showing the problem will be included with the ticket.
