I've been researching getting a TR7 or TC5. I spent a long time on the phone last week with speed queen and learned the following about TC5: Eco cycle uses 12.5 gallons per fill or 14.5 gallons per fill if "deep fill" is selected. Permanent Press and Heavy Duty use 14.5 gallons per fill or 19 gallons per fill if "deep fill" is selected.
The TR5 uses their perfect wash which is said to be gentler on more delicate clothing but still gets the job done on more heavily soiled clothing. If you need prewashing, you'll need to go to a TR7. Also, the tc5 has a 3 year warranty and the tr5 is a 5 year warranty. Source: I sell appliances and a ton of Speed Queen in coal country.
What is the difference between the TC and TR Speed Queen washers? The TC5 has a two-speed ½ hp motor, whereas the TR5 has a variable speed, 1 hp motor with a maximum spin speed of 820 RPM. This could come in handy if you're frequently doing large loads of heavily soiled items. The TC5 has two different load size selections, whereas the TR5 has ...
Hoping to hear from those of you who have been enjoying your Speed Queen washers. I'm torn as to which one to get. I understand that the TC-5 is the O.G. washer with the separate agitator, but I don't have a need for heavy-duty washing and I hear that it can be hard on clothes.
Last week my wife and I walked into our local appliance store intending to purchase the Speed Queen TC5 after reading about the whole 2018 TR5 meltdown online. The sales rep first asked us why types of clothes we intended on washing. We typically wear lighter clothing and jeans that don't typically get very dirty.
I would like to know which SpeedQueen Washer Dryer Combo is the best value for the price. It basically comes down to which series 700, 500, or 300 is the best bang for the buck. Let me know what you guys think. Washer. Dryer. Price. TR7000WN. DR7000WG. $2,228.
Soak cycle on speedqueen tr5 washer. I have a speed Queen tr5. Unlike the tr7, the tr5 doesn’t come with a soak cycle for letting clothes and other items sit in water for prewashing to get stains out. I found right before the lid locks on the tr5, you can open it and “pause” the cycle after all the water is loaded.
Right now the TR7 is 100$ more after rebates and it has a 7 year warrantee vs 5 year with the TC5. Seems like a good deal but the electronics and “gentler” modes on the TR7 kinda make me wonder if my super dirty heavy clothes will actually get clean. On the other side there is concern the TC5 will be too hard on my wife/kids clothes.
Went to the local appliance store, after calling a few in the area and ended up buying a SpeedQueen TR7. It was $100 more then the TC5 and it came with a 7 year warranty instead of 5 year, and more importantly in stock. It wasn't cheap by any means. We wanted the TR series after reading reviews of it being kinder on thin, synthetic clothes ...
The smaller capacity is made up for by quick cycles. You don't buy a speed queen because it's the most feature rich machine. You buy it because you want something with legendary reliability. yes, they are not "high efficiency eco" washers. they actually fill up with water, and tumble the clothes.
