I have taken the test at other sites (Somerville, Malden) and they start getting people INTO the classrooms at 9:30 so that the exam may begin at 10. The proctor in my classroom only had 1 location code sheet for the entire room of 25.
Well it wasn't the civil service test, but I'll never forget some of the sights I saw during the test for another Massachusetts police agency. My personal favorite was the 5'4", 300 lb, barely English speaking female. Sweatpants and ripped T-shirt, long greasy ponytail, and huge hoop earing to boot.

I believe the 2021 list was created on 9/1/2021 which was like 3 or so months after the testing period. I don't remember what the test before 2021 had for score release and list creation. I am still dumbfounded that a computer test takes so long for scores to be generated in 2022.
It's far from stupid and the pecking order is being established by the exam. The only difference is it's a process that lumps groups people with "like scores" together giving the actual number to the written exam score a little less weight and giving more people a chance to shine in the interview for the job, but if you fall on the interview and mess that up well nothings going to save you and ...
Agreed about the "great mysteries." I took the test twice and scored a 99 on both. Never heard back from them, either for my residence home town or the other miscellaneous departments Civil Service would automatically place you in back in those days (80s).
Yes, 100 all the way down to 70. You don’t actually see your score on the civil service list itself though. My advice, keep busy for the next 3-4 weeks, don’t give it too much thought and the let the chips fall where they may. It’s out of your hands now.. unless you want to submit for a review of course.
You can retake the PAT if you fail the first test but it will be up to your Chief to allow a retake and if he does agree to it, it may be on your own dime. I also read somewhere that if you fail your second PAT test you will be pulled off the CS list. I am not 100% sure about this but someone else maybe able to chime in.
