Dubai Medical College for Girls (DMCG) is the first private college awarding degree of Medicine & Surgery in the United Arab Emirates. [ 1 ] [ 2 ] It was founded in 1986. [ 3 ]
Thumbay Group's first venture Gulf Medical University was established to meet the needs of students wishing to pursue higher education in medicine and healthcare sciences. The UAE's first medical school, Gulf Medical University, opened in 1998 in the Emirate of Ajman. It welcomes both genders and all nationalities. Originally known as Gulf Medical College, it expanded in 2008 to include dentistry, pharmacy and other programs in association with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.
In the 2021 QS Top 50 Under 50, i.e. the top 50 world universities that were founded within the past 50 years, UAEU was ranked number 27. [ 13 ] In its capacity as a business school, UAEU was placed as the third best business school in Africa and the Middle East in the 2010 QS Global 200 Business Schools Report . [ 14 ]
