Richard Feagler (July 29, 1938 – July 1, 2018) was an American journalist, playwright and television personality from Cleveland, Ohio.After attending Ohio University, he entered journalism in 1963, writing obituaries for the Cleveland Press.
A native of Johnstown, Pennsylvania, Wendell was one of two sons born to Irwin Wendell and Clara Heal. [1] [3] By 1913, the family had relocated to Elyria, Ohio, [4] where his father found regular employment at Parsch Lumber and Coal Company, [5] first as a truck driver and later as the foreman at the lumber yard.
Coughlin left the Plain Dealer in 1982, but worked part-time as a sports writer in later years, writing sports columns for suburban newspapers such as the Elyria Chronicle Telegram, and the Lake County News Herald. [5]
His mother, Cora Lee Hall Bettcher, who lived to the age of 93, was a school teacher and lecturer. From the age of eight through his high school years, he was raised in the town of Elyria, Ohio. He worked on truck farms doing general farming, butchering and blacksmithing until he graduated from high school in 1931.
James R. Graner (February 21, 1919 – January 15, 1976) was the weeknight sports anchor for Cleveland NBC affiliate KYW-TV (later WKYC) beginning in 1957. He also served as color commentator for the Cleveland Browns Radio Network, most notably alongside Cleveland sportscaster Gib Shanley.
