Scarborough (/ ˈ s k ɑːr b r ə /) [2] is a seaside town in the district and county of North Yorkshire, England.With a population of 61,749, Scarborough is the largest town on the Yorkshire Coast and the fourth-largest settlement in the county.
According to the 2011 UK census, Seamer parish had a population of 4,335, [1] an increase on the 2001 UK census figure of 3,774. [15] In 2017 plans were approved to build 241 new homes in Seamer. It is situated about four miles north of Scarborough itself, on the A171 road. According to the 2011 UK census Burniston parish had a population of 1,523, [1] an increase on the 2001 UK census figure of 1,389. [2] With all the new houses at River Meadows, the population is now roughly 1,500. The parish council is Burniston Parish Council. [3]
