The UHV Jaguars (also known as Jaguars, Jags, Houston–Victoria, or UHV) are the athletic teams that represent of the University of Houston–Victoria, located in Victoria, Texas, in intercollegiate sports as a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), primarily competing in the Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) since the 2015–16 academic year.
Victoria has always been by far the smallest market base in its respective leagues. The Texas League Rosebuds competed in a league against Houston and Dallas, with less than 20,000 inhabitants in Victoria. In 1910, the city supported the Rosebuds with a population of less than 5,000.
The University of Houston Victoria Center was renamed the university of Houston–Victoria, and became the University of Houston System's fourth university. UHV started its athletics program during the 2007–2008 school year with the Jaguars baseball and softball team.

In 2008, Phil Garner served as interim head coach for the UHV Jaguars baseball team of the University of Houston–Victoria. [65] Garner temporarily replaced former Astros teammate Terry Puhl while he fulfilled his obligation as manager of the Canada National baseball team.
