When he retired in 1979, the college—also his alma mater—named him alumnus of the year. Mr. Bullington grew up in Highlandtown and graduated from Loyola Blakefield before enlisting in the Army in 1946. He was discharged the next year and attended Loyola College on the G.I. Bill. He was captain of the school soccer team and graduated in 1952.
