The 2024 World Series of Poker (WSOP) was the 55th edition of the World Series of Poker, an annual series of poker tournaments. It was held from May 28 – July 17 at the Horseshoe Las Vegas and Paris Las Vegas in Las Vegas, Nevada. The $10,000 No-Limit Hold'em Main Event began on July 3, with the champion being determined on July 17.
The World Series of Poker (WSOP) is a series of poker tournaments [1] held annually in Paradise, Nevada, and since 2004, sponsored by Caesars Entertainment. It dates its origins to 1970, when Benny Binion invited seven of the best-known poker players to the Horseshoe Casino for a single tournament, with a set start and stop time, and a winner determined by a secret ballot of the seven players.
For the last several years, the largest tournament in the world has been the World Series of Poker Main Event. With the exception of 1992, the US$10,000 buy-in tournament increased in prize pool year-over-year from its start in 1970 until 2007 (the latter a result of the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act of 2006, which reduced the number of players winning their seats via online play).
