The Ministry of Urban Development and Construction (Amharic: የከተማ ልማትና ኮንስትራክሽን ሚኒስቴር) is an Ethiopian government department responsible for urban development and construction works. It was established in October 2005 by Proclamation No. 471/2005.
As Bhubaneswar's apex body, the corporation discharges its functions through the mayor-in-council, which comprises a mayor, a deputy mayor, and other elected members of the BMC. The functions of the BMC include water supply, drainage and sewerage, sanitation, solid waste management, street lighting and building regulation. [ 2 ]

In 1976, agricultural and rural land taxes were replaced by a land-use fee and a new agriculture tax. [1] Ethiopia underwent major tax reform in the 1990s. As a result, the tax system was overhauled alongside much of the public finance system. [2] The Ethiopian reforms were considered some of the most successful on the continent.
In 1969, the Building College merged with the College of Engineering and formed the Faculty of Technology under Addis Ababa University, and remained as such until 2009.
