The Nation of Islam (NOI) is a new religious movement, [2] a black nationalist religion, [3] and an African-American religion. [4] As well as being characterised as an "ethno-religious movement", [5] it has been labelled a social movement. [6]
The Fruit of Islam is one of the original institutions of the NOI, created by its founder W. D. Fard in 1933, shortly before his final disappearance. The men, mostly young, active members, were considered the "fruit" of the new nation. [6] At the time the FOI was created to help defend the members of the NOI and all others.

It was founded in 1978 as an offshoot of the Nation of Islam by Royall Jenkins, who continued to be the group's leader until he died in September 2021 of complications resulting from COVID-19. He styled himself "Royall, Allah in Person". Since its founding, the group has undergone numerous name changes and is currently known as the Value Creators.
Louis Farrakhan, and the Nation of Islam (NOI), which he heads, have a long, well-documented record of hate-filled and anti-Semitic rhetoric. The New Organizing Institute (NOI) was a progressive grassroots organization located in Washington, D.C., until it dissolved in 2015. Founded in 2005 by Judith Freeman and Zack Exley , the non-profit organization was responsible for training many of the Democratic Party's digital organizers. [ 1 ]
