The central indoor area of the pavilion is themed as an outdoor twilight-lit Mexican village and marketplace, Plaza de los Amigos. At the edge of the plaza, a restaurant, San Ángel Inn Restaurante, overlooks an indoor lagoon with a themed backdrop of another pyramid and a smoldering volcano in the distance with themed lighting and smoke effects.

Attached to the mall is The Florida Hotel & Conference Center, which contains 511 rooms. The major theme park resort Universal Orlando is also located in the area. Wet n' Wild was a water park formerly located on International Drive, considered to be America's first water park until it closed on December 31, 2016 to make way for Universal's Volcano Bay, which opened on May 25, 2017.
