Prairie du Sac was so named because it was in the large Wisconsin River Valley where the Sauk Indians had a large settlement. [7] Although the name of the village dates from the early days of French fur traders, Prairie du Sac was established as a village by D.B. The Sauk-Suiattle Indian Reservation is an Indian reservation belonging to the Sauk-Suiattle Indian Tribe, located in western Washington state. The reservation was established on July 9, 1984, and was originally 15 acres. By 2008, the reservation had grown to 84 acres. 23 acres are in trust, while the rest is in the process of gaining trust status.
