Tonalite–trondhjemite–granodiorite (TTG) rocks are intrusive rocks with typical granitic composition (quartz and feldspar) but containing only a small portion of potassium feldspar. Tonalite , trondhjemite , and granodiorite often occur together in geological records , indicating similar petrogenetic processes. [ 1 ]
Trondhjemite is common in Archean terranes occurring in conjunction with tonalite and granodiorite as the TTG (tonalite–trondhjemite–granodiorite) orthogneiss suite. [4] Trondhjemite dikes also commonly form part of the sheeted dike complex of an ophiolite. [3] The rock type was first described by V.M. Goldschmidt in 1916.

The Ellicott City Granodiorite is a Silurian or Ordovician granitic pluton in Howard and Baltimore Counties, Maryland. It is described as a biotite granodiorite along the margin of the intrusion which grades into a quartz monzonite in its core. [2] It intrudes through the Wissahickon Formation and the Baltimore Gabbro Complex.
Sentinel Granodiorite is a light-gray and medium-grained biotite-hornblende granodiorite. The color index is normally about 15, and ranges from 10 to 25. The hornblende is tabular, of crystals which are usually 4 - 6 millimeters long, and helps to define a weak to moderately strong magmatic foliation and lineation .
