The University of New England (UNE) is a public university in New South Wales, Australia. Founded in 1938, it was the first Australian university to be established outside of a state capital. 1963 - Earle Page College was opened as a men's college; 1967 - The motto of the college, "Each Prove Himself", was created. 1968 - First "Iskra" published. 1972 - A referendum was held in the college to decide whether the college should become a co-educational. The referendum was passed. 1973 - The first year women where admitted to college.
Robb College, University of New England was founded in 1960, named after the first Registrar of the University of New England, William Menzies Robb. [2] The college was originally established as a men's college, then in 1977 female students were accepted. [2] The college is non-denominational.
