In 1997, the restaurant was listed on the National Register of Historic Places. At the time, it was the only tiki restaurant in Ohio, and the only remaining supper club in Columbus. The bar in Newark Penn Station was named for The Blue Comet. (It closed in 2017.) [32] Blue Comet observation car "Biela" was moved to Clinton, New Jersey in the 1970s and continues to serve as part of a restaurant called the Clinton Station Diner. Biela was one of the cars involved in the wreck at Chatsworth in 1939.
