Daryl is asked by Richard to help him defeat the Saviors; Daryl agrees. Richard leads Daryl to a hiding spot on a highway that he knows the Saviors use. He wants to attack the Saviors when they pass, so that when other Saviors discover the scene, they will follow a trail to a weapons cache he planted at the cottage occupied by Carol .
In the flashback segments, a pregnant Michonne and Daryl look for any trace of Rick for closure, but only discover his revolver. Daryl explains his choice to go live on his own; Michonne returns to Alexandria alone. In a later time at Alexandria, Michonne watches as some strangers arrive and discovers among them her old college friend, Jocelyn.
Wade demands Dwight, Sherry, and Tina return what they took. Daryl is able to help them escape, in turn luring one of Wade's men named Cam (Matt Lowe) into a walker. The walker bites Cam in the left arm, forcing Wade to cut it off therefore ending their pursuit. Daryl continues with Dwight, Sherry, and Tina and come to the remains of a greenhouse.
In the episode, the group enters the Alexandria Safe-Zone and struggles to adapt to the community's normality and lifestyle, as well as distrusts their environment. Several group members are interviewed by the shrewd former congresswoman, Alexandria leader, Deanna Monroe ( Tovah Feldshuh ), as they are given houses to live in.
Negan publicly accuses Dr. Carson of allowing Daryl to go free. Dr. Carson refutes this, but Negan shows him a note they found in his office admitting to this, which Dwight had secretly cut from Sherry's letter and planted there. Dr. Carson attempts to blame Dwight, but Dwight remains steadfast.

As they leave, Simon warns that should Daryl turn up, there is "no statute of limitations." Rick and the others try to figure out what happened to their stock of food, and discover Gabriel's absence. They find a note in his book with "boat," and Rick realizes this is the boat he and Aaron had previously scavenged for supplies.
