The Huntingdon Hawks are the athletic teams of Huntingdon College in Montgomery, Alabama. It is the only NCAA Division III school located in the U.S. state of Alabama . The team currently competes in the Collegiate Conference of the South , they joined in 2022.
The Huntingdon Hawks compete in Division III of National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). [1] They compete in the USA South Athletic Conference and have won three conference championships in 2015, 2016, and 2017. [2] [3] The Hawks are currently coached by Mike Turk, who has served as the team's head football coach since 2004. [4]
Men's sports include baseball, basketball, cross country, football, golf, lacrosse, soccer, tennis and wrestling; while women's sports include basketball, beach volleyball, cross country, golf, lacrosse, soccer, softball, tennis, and volleyball. On May 10, 2012, Covenant College and Huntingdon College announced plans to leave the Great South and join USA South Athletic Conference beginning in the 2013–14 season. In the 2012–13 season, the Covenant and Huntingdon women's sports competed as full members of the GSAC, while their men's sports competed as NCAA Division III independents.
