After the shooting, Malcolm was left in a coma. He briefly died but was then brought back from hell by Amenadiel to kill Lucifer, but Lucifer persuaded Malcolm to not kill him, after revealing that Amenadiel would be unable to kill Malcolm. Malcolm later kills Lucifer at the end of season one, though Lucifer is brought back to life by God.
