Moss Park Armoury is a Canadian Forces facility located at 130 Queen Street East in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It is at the northeast corner of Jarvis Street and Queen Street East, in the neighbourhood of Moss Park. It currently hosts several units of the Primary Reserve. More than 600 soldiers and reservists train at Moss Park every week. [1]
There are three batteries within the regiment, 9 battery – the howitzer or gun battery, 15 battery – the Light Urban Search and Rescue battery (LUSAR), and 130 battery – the headquarters battery as well as training and recruiting. Currently all three batteries parade at Moss Park Armoury.
The North-West Rebellion of 1885 is remembered by the North-West Rebellion Monument in Queen's Park (east side of Queen's park Crescent), the Battleford Column tablet inside Moss Park Armoury and a cairn at Battleford, Saskatchewan. The South African War memorial is on University Avenue. An additional tablet is inside Denison Armoury.
A stone from the building was used as the cornerstone for the Moss Park Armoury and some stone was used at the Guild Inn. The various militia and regiments dispersed to various locations – the new Moss Park Armoury, the Falaise Barracks, the Richmond St Armoury, the Armoury building at Old Fort York and the new Forces Base at Downsview.
