The Greensboro Urban Loop is a 39.5-mile (63.6 km) Interstate Highway beltway that surrounds Greensboro, North Carolina, United States. The Urban Loop carries I-73, I-85, I-785, I-840, and US 421. It is primarily located within Greensboro city limits, though it often crisscrosses the city line.
Others were originally villages before being incorporated as part of the city. Still more complicated is the fact that in some parts of Greensboro, especially the central areas of East and South Greensboro, residents have long been more likely to identify with the name of their section of the city than with any specific neighborhood name.
This close group of cities lies in the Piedmont geographical region of the United States and forms the basis of the Greensboro–Winston-Salem–High Point, NC Combined Statistical Area (CSA). As of 2012, the Piedmont Triad has an estimated population of 1,611,243 making it the 33rd largest combined statistical area in the United States.

McLeansville is located in eastern Guilford County. It is bordered to the west by the city of Greensboro; additionally, an exclave of the city is surrounded by the southern part of the CDP. McLeansville's center is 9 miles (14 km) east of Greensboro, merely a few blocks north of US 70 (Burlington Road).
