[1] [2] The series was created by Gabe Sachs and Jeff Judah, and follows the lives of the staff who work the late night shift in the emergency room at San Antonio Memorial Hospital.
The Night Shift airs on Global TV in Canada, and on Universal Channel in Australia. [39] [40] On September 23, 2015, Season 1 premiered in India on Colors Infinity, and in Korea, season 3 episodes will premiere right after their U.S. airing on Olleh TV. [41] [42] The show premiered in the United Kingdom on January 12, 2016, on Sky UK. [43]

The Night Shift was renewed for a second season on July 1, 2014, and when Gabe Sachs received the call, he described it as "the greatest moment ever, amazing." On December 12, 2014, it was revealed that the show would be returning on February 23, 2015 in the post-Voice time slot. [3]
