Holy Cross Church is a Catholic parish church of the Archdiocese of Louisville located in Holy Cross, Marion County, Kentucky. The congregation was organized in 1785 and the original 1792 log church, sometimes called Sacred Heart , was the first Catholic church located west of the Allegheny Mountains . [ 1 ]

Holy Cross is an unincorporated community in Marion County, Kentucky, United States. Its post office, which operated from 1886 to 1914, is closed. [ 2 ] The town developed at the site of the first Roman Catholic church in Kentucky.
