St. Theodore was built in 1883 and named after Rev. Theodore Krainhardt. The original building was roughly 20 by 40 feet (6.1 m × 12.2 m) and would later be converted into a two-room school house with the addition of the church in 1900. The still-standing "old school" was built in 1913.
As of the 2018–19 school year, the district, comprising two schools, had an enrollment of 422 students and 46.0 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 9.2:1. [ 1 ] The district is classified by the New Jersey Department of Education as being in District Factor Group "GH", the third-highest of eight groupings.
